The understanding of studio and sound technology is mandatory for working in the HfG's production studios. The course is focusing on acoustics, sound perception and studio equipment and outlines the physics of sound as well as the principles of acoustic transducers and sound generators. The theory of analog and digital signal processing is accompanied by practical explanations of the operating concepts of mixing consoles, audio interfaces, DAWs, and amplifiers. Connection and transmission technology is also covered.
A basic certificate (Grundlagennachweis) is awarded for successful participation. This entitles the student to work in the HfG recording studios.
As proof of their ability to use the equipment, participants must realize a sound piece in the studios based on what they have learned. A corresponding task will be handed out during the course.
