How would you imagine alternative ways of computing without electricity, or with some electricity and no access to the World Wide Web? In this workshop, we will explore alternative ways to compute without access to the internet or electricity.

We will look into local servers and DIY battery packs, and how we could host applications on them entirely offline. Through making, we ask: what kinds of tools do communities actually need, and what becomes possible when infrastructure fits in your bag?

A quick tangent into internet rabbit holes into survivalism should be expected.

The workshop runs in parallel with the Seminar Floor of the Lava III Seminar by Prof. Charlotte Eifler and is also open to the rest of the school. There will be limited spots.
