The Seminar holds the answer to this riddle that is assembled from Torquemada’s cross words for riper years as well as other puzzles, puns and poems. The seminar is a practical introduction to typography in printed publications. From the microtypographical scale of spacing, type size and lineheight, punctuation and quotations marks, hyphens, hidden characters, to informations hierarchies, paragraphs, rag and justification, margins and footnotes, columns, alignment, grids and storytelling. We will explore all of this while working on publications as pot-luck books for the “historical, factual, or fanciful”.
Course language will be English and/or German depending on needs.
This course is mandatory for second year Communication Design students.
